VR-Zone claims to have heard that Apple is still exploring the integration of USB 3.0 into their future computers. USB 3 is the most recent major version of the USB standard. Apple presently supports USB 2 in its computers. The main improvement in USB 3 is that it can support transfer speeds up to 10x faster than USB 2

I think it’s a no-brainer that Apple will pick up USB 3.0 in their next generation of products.

Netflix took a large hit on Thursday after Starz said it had broken off talks to renew a content deal. Under current conditions, the TV channel provider would pull the movies and other pay TV content it licenses out to Netflix on February 28, 2012. Its statement tried to portray Netflix as cheapening its service and that it was purportedly doing its content a service by shopping for deals elsewhere.

This is a bad blow for Netflix!

After news broke yesterday that Apple had, for the second time in two years, lost an iPhone prototype at a San Francisco bar, the general reaction was one of incredulity. How could Cupertino carelessly misplace their prized corporate secrets twice in a row?

It happens more than you might think. In fact, we’ve got the exclusive scoop on how one guy walked out of his local Apple Store recently with something unique… a complete Time Machine backup of the Apple Store’s internal file server, filed with top secret and confidential Apple Store documents.

Wow! Time-capsule-gate!

Samsung’s most unique launch at IFA on Thursday was the Galaxy Note, an attempt to blur the lines between phones and tablets. Its centerpiece is a 5.3-inch, 1280x800 Super AMOLED screen that’s both extremely crisp but also optionally takes pen input. Called the S Pen, the bundled stylus can be used to draw, handwrite notes, or to annotate screen captures

The stylus looks to be better for handwriting than capacitive stuff on iOS devices. This actually looks pretty good! See what happens when you actually try to innovate a little?

This is great — the iNecklace is Adafruit’s latest open-sourced, electronic jewelry. It’s a pendant shaped like a power button, complete with a pulsing LED inside. It’s beautiful, stylish, and a nicely subtle way to proclaim your loyalty to tech in a sleek and cool way. … the iNecklace sells for $75 and will begin shipping in September.

Who am I kidding? I want one anyway!!

The Makayama Movie Mount is a tripod-mountable case for the iPad 2, designed to set up your Apple tablet for an extended amount of movie shooting. The mount clips right around the iPad, and it also has two hotshoes for things like lights or microphones, a screw fitting for a place to mount a lens converter, and a kickstand on the back to hold the iPad up as usual. Makayama has also made a free app for the iPad that allows you to control the finer aspects of shooting, with both video and photography

Not sure that I’d want to be shooting video with the iPad’s camera though. But cool idea!

Everyone seems to want some AirPlay action. The newest dock to crash onto the stage is this AirPlay-equipped, sleek-looking monolith from iHome, the iW1 ($300).

For people who want a no-fuss, affordable AirPlay solution this might be worth looking at.

FiLMiC Pro ($2.99) by Cinegenix, LLC does for the iPhone’s camcorder what Camera+ does for the iPhone’s still-frame shutter.

It puts the power in the user’s hands, opening up windows of possibility as well as the full creative potential of the device itself. The app comes with enough fine-tune settings to please even the most demanding of directors, and with such a fluid interface, there’s no reason to leave FiLMiC Pro behind during a shoot.

FiLMiC Pro acts as a feature-rich HD video recorder for the iPhone. The app adds functionality to the stock iOS camcorder, including control over the exposure, focus, resolution, frame rate, and framing of each shot.

Angry Birds on Roku is pretty fun

If the Apple TV hooks into the bluetooth controller idea, or lets you use iOS devices as controllers I can see the living room gaming might never be the same again.

Epson will be adding AirPrint support for wireless printing to major new models of Epson inkjet printers starting next month. The support will enable users to wirelessly print from most iOS devices, including the iPhone 3GS and later, iPad and iPad 2 and the third-generation and later iPod Touch, running iOS 4.2 or later

It’s good to see other printer manufacturers support AirPrint beyond HP.
